Springsteen has expressed some mixed feelings about the album, believing that Nebraska contains some of his strongest writing, while Born in the U.S.A. did not necessarily follow suit. Dec 7, 2006 · Sheesh. This is not Bruce's best album ever, but it contains several songs that are must-haves for any serious fan of Springsteen, or of rock'n'roll in general. Bruce's albums before & after this one always had a great deal of depth, complexity and darkness, with dramatic tension between conflicting emotions, like hope, fear, resilience, and joy.
